The UN & ISO have come up with THIS for the new Universal symbol for radiation. I dunno, I think it's a little complex. To me, universal signs shouldn't be step-by-step instructions on how to do something. Here were clearly see the old symbol at the top showering it's squiggly rays down on the lowly peoples. One person happens to be a pirate... the other an athlete or someone who needs to use the restroom quickly. So what are we going to be seeing this on? The x-ray machine at the dental office? (run for your lives)? You new cellphone? (you gonna die man)?

You are right. The symbol needs to be simple. This one is just plain entertaining. Oops, Gotta GO................

It looks like a propeller sending heat down on the pirate and there's a guy running in the crosswalks. Walk/Don't Walk.
What was wrong with the old symbol. I thought everyone knew what it meant.
i dunno. i can appreciate how they're trying to make a sign that says what will happen and what you should do. it wouldn't be easy to read from a glance though. i might design the sign to be in the shape of the traditional radioative symbol, and then have a big skull in the middle.
